What the website processes
When a browser requests a page, hosting infrastructure necessarily receives technical information such as an IP address, request time, requested resource and browser information. Service providers may maintain security and operational logs to deliver and protect the website. Such processing is based on the legitimate interests of operating a reliable and secure publication.
The supplied website code contains no analytics, advertising trackers, third-party embeds or externally hosted fonts. Images, styles and scripts are requested from this site. See Cookie preferences for browser-storage information.
The contact preparation tool runs locally. Field values are used in browser memory to create a plain-text preview; they are not submitted to a server by the tool or saved by it in localStorage. Copy writes the prepared text to your device’s clipboard after you request it. Download creates a file on your device. Your browser or operating system may separately retain form history, clipboard contents or downloads under its own settings.
03 / correspondence
If you choose to email us
We receive your email address, message, any name you provide and any attachments you send. We use these to respond, assess corrections and maintain relevant editorial records. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in handling correspondence; where a legal obligation applies, we may retain information to meet that obligation.
Hosting and email providers may process information on our behalf. Information may also be disclosed where required by law or necessary to establish or defend legal claims. We do not sell correspondence or use it to create advertising profiles. Please avoid sending sensitive personal information that is not needed for your enquiry.
Routine correspondence is normally retained for up to 12 months after the enquiry closes. A limited record may be kept longer where necessary to document a published correction, resolve a dispute or comply with law. Technical logs are retained only for the period needed for operational and security purposes. Provider processing outside the EEA, if applicable, must use an appropriate lawful transfer mechanism.
04 / your rights
Requests and concerns
Subject to applicable conditions, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it without affecting earlier lawful processing. We do not use the contact tool for automated decisions or profiling.
Email your request to [email protected]. We may need proportionate information to verify identity. You may complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission or another competent supervisory authority.
